Since we hadn’t really spent much time in Vancouver, we decided that before we left the area we would stay a couple more days at a park right in the city so that we could explore a bit more before it was time to move on. We spent one of our days at Lynn Canyon where we checked out their nature centre, walked on the suspension bridge and went hiking through the beautiful green forest. I think the amazing green mossy forests of BC are definitely something we will not forget. Eric especially loves it, and I am pretty sure he has taken at least a couple hundred pictures of trees covered in moss!

We decided to spend our next day just walking around Vancouver. We went to the Gastown district and found the old steam powered clock. Emma was not too impressed with it, and was like “we walked all that way for this?!”. We walked a bit farther to Canada Place and walked along the Canadian Trail each with a drink from Timmies in our hand! I thought it fitting. We had planned to drive to Granville Island and spend some time wandering around and checking out the market, but after sitting in a line of traffic waiting to get on the island for 15 minutes and not moving at all, Eric made the executive decision that we probably wouldn’t find a place to park our giant truck over there if it was that busy. So we headed back to our park where the kids had a nice swim in the pool.

Our next destination on our journey was to spend some time in the Okanagan Valley. We didn’t want to drive the whole way without stopping from Vancouver, so we stayed for three nights in the beautiful little town of Hope. The park we stayed at was beautiful. It was right on a river with big tree covered sights and a really cool bike park across the road from us. Haydn had a lot of fun riding very carefully on the hills and ramps. We found a couple of cool things to see while we were in Hope. One of them was the Othello tunnels at Coquilla Park. The 5 tunnels were originally part of the Kettle Valley Railway and wind through mountains and over a gorge. Some of the tunnels were longer than others and were really dark. We had fun trying to navigate through them, and getting cave kisses along the way.

We hiked through another beautiful green lush forest on our way to find Flood Falls in Hope. It was a nice little hike with a very tall waterfall at the end.
